Ergonomics and modularity

A kitchen around you. Lube knows that every person is unique, and for this reason it has created an array of solutions to personalise kitchen furnishings to meet the needs of each customer. In fact, the design of a kitchen environment cannot fail to take into account ergonomics in order to achieve maximum safety, usability and comfort for the end user during daily activities. For this reason, Lube offers the possibility of combining plinth, drawer and worktop heights to obtain the one most suitable to the customer's height and many needs.

Click on the image below to access a more detailed description of the main parts of the kitchen and their measurements.

COLUMN MEASUREMENTS

The column sides are available in heights of 96/132/204/228 cm for the 13 cm and 15 cm plinths. 36 and 48 cm column tops are also available for the 204 cm height, in order to increase their storage space.

Column sides in the 108/144/216 cm heights are also available, but only with a 6 cm plinth. 36 and 48 cm column tops are also available for the 216 cm height, in order to increase their storage space.

The small wall units above the columns can be used to store infrequently used items and equipment.

WORKTOP DEPTH

The standard depth of the Lube worktop is 61cm and the distance from the wall unit bottom is 56cm (see Fig.1). These measurements allow a user of average height to see both the work area (worktop and back) and the storage space of the overhead wall units easily.

WALL UNIT MODULES AND STRUCTURE

The wall units (like the bases) have an 18 mm thick weight-bearing structure, while the internal storage space is 30 cm.

The 36, 48, 60, 72 and 108 cm heights are available for the 90 cm width. The same heights plus 120 cm are available for the 45 and 60 cm widths.

BASE ERGONOMICS AND STANDARD HEIGHTS

The user's height must be considered for correct use of the worktop, so the design of the kitchen must be based on this measurement. If two people of very different heights work in the kitchen, it would be correct to have worktops of different heights. The right height of the bases is measured by bending the elbow at 90 degrees, which should be between 10 and 15 cm above the worktop (Fig.1).

SUPPORTS FOR PENINSULA

As contemporary kitchen design focuses increasingly on the idea of open space, the peninsula has now become an essential component.
This element can be used to define the spaces without using other divisor elements and, in addition to enhancing the kitchen's appearance, it can also be used as a snack bar, counter or table, depending on its height from the ground.
Lube offers a wide range of peninsula legs and the two main types are shown in the figures below:

Fig. 1: Fixed height legs, for which only the heights listed are available
Fig. 2: Variable height legs, for which the height is adjustable to the specific requirements

MODULARITY AND DIVISION OF SPACE FOR THE BASES

The bases can be divided horizontally into drawers (modules 12, 18 and 24) and deep drawers (modules 36 and 48), for both the bases with side H72 and for those with H84. The drawers are H17 and the deep drawers are H34 on the bases with finger rail H75. The version with 3 drawers and 1 deep drawer is not available for the bases with finger rail.
In addition to offering more storage space, side H84 has an H6 plinth which gives the composition a more contemporary appearance.
